Pharmaceutical Intermediate CAS 59-30-3 Bulk Vitamin B9 Folic Acid Powder What is Folic Acid(Vitamin B9)?

Folic acid is a water-soluble vitamin named for its abundance in green leaves. It is also known as pteroxylglutamate.  It occurs in several forms in nature, and its parent compounds are a combination of terenidine, p-aminobenzoic acid, and glutamic acid.  Folic acid contains one or more glutamyl groups, and most naturally occurring folic acid is in the form of polyglutamic acid.  The biologically active form of folic acid is tetrahydrofolic acid.  Folic acid is a yellow crystal that is slightly soluble in water, but its sodium salts dissolve easily in water.  Insoluble in ethanol.  Easily damaged in acidic solutions, unstable when heated, easily lost at room temperature, easily damaged when seen.  Folic acid is absorbed in the body in two ways: active absorption and diffusion passive absorption.  Absorption is mainly in the upper part of the small intestine.  Reduced folic acid has a higher absorption rate.  The more glutamyl, the lower the absorption rate.  Glucose and vitamin C promote absorption.  The absorbed folic acid is stored in the intestinal wall, liver, bone marrow and other tissues in the body.  It is reduced to tetrahydrofolic acid (THFA or FH4) by folic acid reductase, and NADPH is involved in the synthesis of purines and pyrimidines.  Thus, folic acid plays an important role in protein synthesis and cell division and growth, and promotes normal red blood cell formation.  Lack of hemoglobin leads to a decrease in the production of hemoglobin in red blood cells, which prevents cells from maturing and leads to megaloblastic anemia.

Function of Folic Acid(Vitamin B9)

Folic acid can be used as an anti-tumor therapy.  Folic acid is good for brain and nerve cell development in babies.  Folic acid can be used as an adjunct to schizophrenia, and it has a significant soothing effect.  In addition, folic acid can also be used to treat chronic atrophic gastritis, inhibit bronchial squamous transformation, and prevent homocysteine-induced coronary atherosclerosis, myocardial injury and myocardial infarction.  Various causes of folate deficiency and giant juvenile cell anemia caused by folate deficiency.  Prophylactic medication for pregnant and lactating women.  Folic acid deficiency due to chronic hemolytic anemia.  . .

Application of Folic Acid(Vitamin B9)

Folic acid is used to prevent and treat low levels of folic acid in the blood (folic acid deficiency), as well as its complications, including "tired blood" (anemia) and the inability of the intestine to absorb nutrients properly.  Folic acid is also commonly used for dialysis for other conditions associated with folic acid deficiency, including ulcerative colitis, liver disease, alcoholism and kidney disease.  Women who are or may become pregnant take folic acid to prevent miscarriage and "neurotic" birth defects such as spina bifida, in which the fetus's spine and back do not close.  Some people take folic acid to prevent colon cancer or cervical cancer.  It is also used to prevent heart attacks and strokes, and to lower blood levels of a chemical called homocysteine.  High homocysteine levels may increase the risk of heart disease.  Folic acid is used in the treatment of memory loss, alzheimer's disease, age-related hearing loss, prevent eye disease, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), reduce signs of aging, osteoporosis, legs jump (restless leg syndrome), sleep problems, depression, nerve pain, muscle pain, AIDS, a skin disease called vitiligo.  And a genetic disorder called fragile syndrome.  T is also used to reduce the harmful side effects of treatment with the drugs lomettrexol and methotrexate.  Some people treat gum infections by applying folic acid directly to their gums.  Folic acid is often used in combination with other B vitamins.   .
