PHPA
stands for Partially Hydrolyzed Polyacrylamide. It is a synthetic water-soluble polymer that belongs to the polyacrylamide family. PHPA is widely used in various industries and applications, including oil and gas, wastewater treatment, mining, and agriculture.
PHPA is primarily used as a rheology modifier and fluid viscosifier. It can increase the viscosity and viscoelasticity of fluids, providing better suspension and carrying capacity for solid particles or cuttings. In drilling fluids, PHPA is commonly used to control fluid loss, enhance hole cleaning, and stabilize the wellbore.
Advantages:
Temperature resistance up to 150 ºC.
It can effectively wrap the drilling cuttings and inhibit their dispersion.
Significantly improves the lubricity of mud when used in non dispersed systems.
No fermentation, no need for fungicides, low dosage, significant effect.
