Production Description
HEC
As a non-ionic surfactant, hydroxyethyl cellulose has the following properties besides thickening, suspension, adhesion, emulsification, film-forming, dispersion, water retention and protection: 1. HEC is soluble in hot water or cold water, and does not precipitate at high temperature or boiling, which makes it have a wide range of solubility and viscosity characteristics, that is, non thermal gel property; 2. The non-ionic type can coexist with other water-soluble polymers, surfactants and salts in a wide range, and is an excellent colloid thickener containing high concentration electrolyte solutions; 3. The water holding capacity is twice as high as that of methyl cellulose, and it has good flow regulation; 4. Compared with the commonly recognized methyl cellulose and hydroxypropyl cellulose, HEC has the worst dispersion ability, but the strongest colloid protection ability.
Application:
1. For water emulsion paint As a protective colloid, HEC can be used in the emulsion polymerization of vinyl acetate to improve the stability of the polymerization system in a wide pH range. Additives such as pigments and fillers are used in the manufacture of finished products to evenly disperse, stabilize and provide thickening effect. It can also be used as dispersant for benzene, acrylate, acrylonitrile and other floating polymers. 2. Oil drilling HEC is used as a thickener among all kinds of mud required for drilling, well setting, cementing and fracturing operations to ensure good fluidity and stability of the mud. The mud carrying capacity is improved during drilling, and a large amount of water is prevented from entering the reservoir from the mud, thus stabilizing the production capacity of the reservoir. 3. For building materials construction and building materials Because of its strong water retaining capacity, HEC is an effective thickener and binder for cement slurry and mortar. Adding HEC into mortar can improve fluidity and construction performance, prolong water evaporation time, improve initial strength of concrete and avoid cracks. For plastering gypsum, bonding gypsum and gypsum putty, the water retention and bonding strength can be significantly improved. 4. Used in toothpaste Because of its strong salt resistance and acid resistance, HEC can ensure the stability of the toothpaste paste. In addition, the toothpaste is not easy to dry due to its water retention and emulsification strength. 5. Used in water-based and ink HEC can make the ink dry fast and impermeable. In addition, HEC is also widely used in textile printing, paper making, daily chemicals, etc.
