Boric acid is also called "orthoboric acid". It is derived from the action of natural borax (sodium borate) and acid. The chemical formula is H3BO3. The molecular weight is 61.83. White triclinic scales with shiny crystals. The relative density is 1.43514, and the refractive index is 1.337, 1.461, and 1.462. It is soluble in water, ethanol and glycerin. The aqueous solution is acidic, a weak monobasic acid (Ka=6×10-10).
The solubility in water increases with increasing temperature. Heat to 16Chemicalbook9°C (±1°C) to produce metaboric acid, and 300°C to form boric anhydride. Neutralize with strong base to get metaborate. Tetraborate is obtained under weakly alkaline conditions.
Preparation method: It can be prepared by adding hydro chloric acide or sulfuric acid to borax solution, or by decomposing boronite with hydro chloric acide.
Uses: Widely used in the manufacture of borate, water glass, borate, optical glass, enamel, paint, pigment, cosmetics, food preservatives, leather finishing, printing and dyeing auxiliaries and medicine, etc. It can also be used as antiseptic, disinfectant, and astringent Agent.
Application Of Bori Acid:
After a large amount of this product is absorbed, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea may occur, and severe cases may lead to death due to circulatory failure and shock. Due to slow excretion, it can lead to accumulation of poisoning, manifested as anorexia, fatigue, mental confusion, dermatitis, baldness, anemia and menstrual disorders.
1. It should not be used for breast nipples in the Milk;
2. Not suitable for use as a medicament and food preservative;
3. Cosmetics containing more than 5% boric acid powder shall not be used on babies and broken skin;
4. Do not sprinkle boric acid powder on the broken skin of children;

Bori Acid
:
Boric acid is a weak preservative. The aqueous solution of boric acid is weakly acidic. It combines with amino groups in bacterial proteins to exert antibacterial effects and weakly inhibit bacteria and fungi. Little irritation is the biggest feature of this product.
It can be used as a cleansing agent for skin and mucous membrane damage, including acute eczema and acute dermatitis with large amounts of exudate, stomatitis and pharyngitis, external auditory canal mycosis, impetigo, chronic ulcers and bedsores, etc. 3%~5% solution is used to wash the wound, 2% solution is used to wash the eyes and oral mucosal tissues, 4% solution is used to treat pharyngitis and stomatitis, 2%~3% boric acid glycerin is used to external otitis, 4% alcohol solution is used for external auditory canal mycosis, and 10% ointment is used to treat skin abscesses, ulcers and pressure sores.
