Caprolactam, with chemical formula of C6H11NO and molecular weight of 113.16, is one of the important organic chemical raw materials. It is white powder or crystal in appearance and has an oily feel. 1. Most of caprolactam is used to produce polycaprolactam. About 90% of the latter is used to produce synthetic fiber, that is, kapuron, and 10% is used as plastic, which is used to manufacture gears, bearings, pipes, medical devices, electrical and insulating materials. It is also used in coatings, plastic agents and a small amount of synthetic lysine.
